(Above)" ARTHUR'S BIRTHDAY" Arthur (Rodney Reeder) is 69 years old today. His wife died some years ago and all his friends have passed away as well. Nevertheless he is determined to celebrate his birthday.
In "JOEY" (above) our 2014 award winning drama, Juliette played by Jacqueline De La Cour talks to her husband most nights. Problem is; he has been dead for years. The Club production, written and directed by Pam Baker has claimed 'Runner Up in the Albany Comp and Best Drama & Best Club Film in this years Sussex Film Festival.

"FOR KING AND COUNTRY" rolls back time and we see the same Arthur who featured in "Arthur's Birthday' as a young soldier captured by the Germans in WWII. He undergoes a torturous time but does not reveal information to his captors. Michael Morris (below) plays German Major Reinhardt in this production, written and directed by Clive Hand.

Proposals for a canal linking Chichester directly to the sea go back as least as far as 1585 when an act of parliament was passed allowing a cut linking Chichester with the sea. Further proposals were made in the early 19th century, with schemes being proposed in 1801, 1802, 1803 and 1811, but none of these came to pass and as a result the first link to the sea was via a branch of the Portsmouth and Arundel Canal opened in 1822. The Chichester Ship Canal although now used only for recreation is wonderfully portrayed in Harry Page's "THE CANAL"
