22nd Oct.       THE LINDEMAN COMPETITION. The first of our annual competitions in the   2014/15 season. Members entries may be on any subject but must not run for longer than five minutes.

 

5th Nov.        THE PORTSDOWN CHALLENGE   Fireworks tonight as it is our turn to host the annual challenge competition against Portsdown Video Makers. Whose turn for the trophy this year? Leave room for the buffet. Entries due in for THE HOLIDAY COMPETITION.

 

19th Nov.        THE HOLIDAY COMPETITION. Whether it's a week with the kids at Butlins or a travelogue of a trip up the Zambezi in a canoe, or anything in between, it's what the Holiday Competition is all about, so it's is our members opportunity to show what they've been doing during the summer.                       (Guideline 15 minutes)

 

3rd Dec.         PUB QUIZ AND MINCE PIES   What our members have all been waiting for. Another helping from Keith Baker's Book Of Mensa Teasers, ably  assisted by Pam keeping the scores and the peace. Mulled wine and mince pies will put us in the mood for...........................?

 

13th Dec.        THE CFVM CHRISTMAS DINNER  An opportunity for members to celebrate the festive season. Once again at George Bell House, Chichester.

7th Jan.      WE SCREEN 'HAYWARDS HEATH'S SHOWREEL  Ease into the new year by watching a showreel produced by our old friends a from Haywards Heath.    HHMM seem to be the ones to beat at the moment so we expect this evening to be instructive as well as entertaining. 

 

21st Jan     THE ONE MINUTE COMPETITION A competition to find by popular ballot the best three films of sixty seconds duration or less, including titles and credits, if any.  Films can be entered on the night and are judged by all members in the audience.

  

4th Feb.     THE MAKING OF 'AN OUTSIDE CHANCE'  Jacquie, Kevin and Mike Knock describe, with outtakes and other illustrations, trials, tribulations and triumphs that went into our 2014 Albany entry from the point of view of the Director, Director of Photography and Editor respectively. Could be invaluable for the next meeting.

 

 

18th Feb.     THE SCREENING OF THE SUMMER WORKSHOP FILMS  The first showing of the club films produced during the summer and the first opportunity for members to give and receive useful feedback prior to submission to competitions. Entries due in for the Documentary Competition

 

4th March     THE DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION This the members chance to show that they can do as well as Michael Slowe by entering a  documentary film that is entertaining and instructive as well as being enjoyable.  The material can be on any subject. (guideline   15 minutes).

 

18th March   OUR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Some AGMs are a bore but ours aren’t.  Members will come along along and learn what  has happenedregarding the running of   their club, have their say about the selection of officers and committee members, help run the club if they are so inclined and present propositions.   

 

1st April   WE USED TO MAKE FILMS  This is a chance   for some of our older members to show   some of their work from previous years.   Entries due in for the Annual   Competition.

 

15th April THE ANNUAL COMPETITION  The big competition   of the year. New films as well as any entered in this year’s other competitions.   Tonight will be the screening of all the entries that will later be judged by three members of another video and film making Club. (guideline 15 minutes). Must not have been previously entered in Annual Competition.

 

29th April  HIMALAYAN ADVENTURE   This evening we look forward to a visit from Martin Salter, freelance photographer and filmmaker, with his fascinating research story behind the making of his “Himalayan Adventure” and “Wolf”.

 

15th May  THE SOUTH DOWNS CHALLENGE This year it is our turn to welcome our friends and neighbours from Ferring for a mainly social evening but with an undercurrent of   competitive spirit about who can screen the better set of  films. Buffet included.

 

 27th May THE CFVM 'OSCARS' Supper and Prize Giving After your meal is served and enjoyed sit back for the Awards Ceremony when the results of the Annual Competition are finally announced and the various trophies and awards are presented.
