                                             A NIGHT AT THE 'OSCARS'

 

           Wednesday evening 28th May 2014 was 'OSCAR EVENING' at CFVM. Following our traditional supper, the show was presented by Competitions Secretary Keith Baker and the awards were given by Vice Chairman Michael Morris   

 The in house awards were announced first

 

 THE LINDEMAN COMPETITION.

for best film under 5 minutes duration;

First place     "A World Of Pure Imagination" Keith Baker

Second place   "Under And Over"  Geoffrey Claridge

Third Place   "Kate Fletcher: Fire On The Floor"

Kevin Pritchard

 

 

THE HOLIDAY COMPETITION

First Place  "The Eloosive Moose"  Judith and Chris Kenny

Second Place "Warnemünde"  Keith Baker

Third Place  "A Taste Of Edinburgh"  Geoffrey Claridge

 

                     

THE ONE MINUTE COMPETITION

 for films not exceeding 60 seconds duration.

First place  "Private Eye: Part 1"  Kevin Pritchard

Second place   "The Confession"  Pam Baker

Third place    "Top Of The Tree"  Kevin Pritchard

 

 

THE DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION

First place     "My Dear Murray"  Clive Hand

            Second place "High And Mighty" Geoffrey Claridge            

Third Place   "Bloomsbury Byways" Judith and Chris Kenny 

 

 

The Club has always endeavoured to maintain a high standard of production and soon became known as one of the foremost of its kind in the South, 

if not the whole country.

 

 

                     THE CFVM ANNUAL COMPETITION 2014

 

Our 'Annual' was judged in the early part of May 2014 by three members of Darlington Camcorder Club and we thank them very much for their time and fair judgement.

 

Clive Hand's entry "My Dear Murray" was awarded

THE FOUNDERS CUP

for Best film of the year

THE GIBBON'S SHIELD

for the Best Edited entry

THE FORMBY CUP

for the Best Sound Track

THE JOHN PHILLIPS MEDALLION

for the Best Commentary

 

"In Search Of The Tiger"

by Judith and Chris Kenny won

THE LOUISE BIRD TROPHY

for Best Natural History Film

 

THE JOHN WRIGHT AWARD

for most humorous entry went to Pam Baker

 for her film "The Confession"

 

John Bradshaw was awarded the

 BEST NOVICE cup, which is awarded

to members new to CFVM competitions, for his entry

"The Lake Isle"

 

THE VICTOR LUDORUM

award for films entered and points gained in club

 competitions throughout the year was won by

Geoffrey Claridge.

 

Kevin Pritchard was awarded a Special Commendation

by the judges of Darlington Camcorder Club, for his work with Special Effects in the making of his film

 "Kate Fletcher: Fire On The Floor"

 

The membership voted that

THE PEARMAN AWARD

for 'Clubmanship', exceptional contribution to the club

throughout the year, should be presented to
